Sophias and Jacksons might start ruling the playground soon, but in a few years, watch out for Charlotte and Ezra. A new list of the trendiest baby names of the year might predict which names will dominate soon.
The baby-name site Nameberry has a page for every name you can possibly think of, and each year, they rank their most-viewed names. According to the site, most of its users are naming their children in either 2015 or 2016, which makes the list a bit more current than the official Social Security name list, which tracks names that were picked back in 2014.
For girls, Princess Charlotte helped that name rise to the top this year, though other royal names like George and Charles dropped off the list for boys. Other pop-culture names like Elsa and Katniss dropped off the top 100, though Atticus ranked third for boys this year after Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman brought the character back into conversation.
