Why do babies cry?
There are many reasons why babies cry, and it can be very hard for a new parent to know why their baby is crying and how they can help to cease it. It can be very difficult, and can make you feel like a bad parent. However, EVERY baby cries, not just yours, and it is normal to feel the way you do. This article gives you some reasons why babies cry and how you can help the little baby.
The baby can be TOO HOT or TOO COLD, but they don’t have the ability to tell you this, so they cry. Research shows the baby should wear ONE layer more of clothing than you to be comfortable.
The baby may NEED TO BE HELD and COMFORTED. Some babies need more or less comforting, and its all dependent on your baby.
Your baby might be HUNGRY. This is the most common reason why babies cry, and the solution is easy, give your baby some milk to soothe her/him.
Your baby might need to REST. Just like us, babies need rest, and they also need no stimuli when sleeping. So there should not be any television, radio or entertainment when the baby is trying to sleep.
So when your baby is crying the best things to do are to feed the baby, wrap it up and comfort the baby, make sure the baby is comfortable and doesn’t need a nappy change. Sing a lullaby and give the baby something to suck on. If all else fails, you might need to take your baby to a pediatrician in case of illnesses such as colic.
Just remember you are not a bad mother/father, every baby cries, and every baby stops crying too!!!
