It is a reality that children go missing daily in our beautiful country. Also, we do understand that this creates uncertainty and becomes a worry for every parent in South Africa. We might not have a solution for all the problems, but we are here to assist you wherever possible.
The South African Police Service (SAPS), together with other organisations are investigating the possibility of putting together a proper Identification Kit. The aim is to distribute the kit to all schools, welfare organisations and relevant places free of charge.
This will now, however, materialise before the world cup and therefore we thought it best to inform you what SAPS require when a child goes missing. For the interim, we have designed a kit that contains most of the information required.
We suggest that you print this document, complete it thoroughly and keep it in a safe place. Make sure that this document will be readily available for the police or organisations like us if something should happen to your child.
Fingerprints can be taken at any police station, or by using an inkpad and instructions on how to take a DNA and SWAB sample are stipulated in the document.
